Who are you?

Specialist in Orthopedics and Traumatology with a nick to foot and ankle surgery, who relocated from Germany. Husband and father of two vivid boys.

Favorite part of your job?

Being able to make a meaningful difference in someone’s life by restoring mobility, reducing suffer or helping them return to their activities.

Why did you decide to enter your field?

Shaped by my mother’s social compassion (she is also a doctor) and my father’s modest yet remarkable manual skill, I suppose I never really had a choice  - I found myself naturally drawn to surgery.

What inspires you?

The quiet determination and selfless spirit of those around me alongside the calm strength I find in nature.

The most interesting article you’ve read recently?

L David Mech. 1999. Alpha status, dominance, and division of labor in wolf packs. Canadian Journal of Zoology. 77(8): 1196-1203. "A unique example of how one can still correct one’s own mistake regarding a well-known scientific finding about the role of the alpha wolf and the dominance-hierarchy, even after almost 30 years."

Your favorite book and why?

The End of Loneliness by Benedict Wells - Hard to say why it keeps such a tight grip on me and won’t let go,but I strongly recommend reading it yourselves!
