FICEBO at ISAKOS 2025 Congress in Munich

FICEBO researchers attended the ISAKOS 2025 Congress in Munich, one of the major international meetings in orthopaedics and sports medicine.
Thomas Ibounig and Lasse Rämö presented two posters from our ongoing SCRUTINY project, covering:
- Imaging abnormalities of the glenohumeral join
- Abnormalities of the acromioclavicular joint and subacromial space
These systematic reviews critically examine the prevalence and interpretation of common imaging findings in the shoulder, highlighting how many so-called “abnormalities” are seen in asymptomatic individuals. By distinguishing true pathology from age-related variation, this work aims to reduce overdiagnosis and overtreatment while supporting more evidence-based decision-making in clinical practice.
The four-day congress offered a packed scientific program with a wide range of clinical and research-focused sessions. It was a great opportunity to share our work and catch up with colleagues from around the world.
