Equality and Anti-discrimination in FICEBO

We consider equality and anti-discrimination to be core principles guiding the work of our FICEBO research group. Each organization that employs members of our staff (such as the University of Helsinki or HUS) has established procedures for reporting inappropriate behavior or harassment. However, since the members of our research group consist of employees and students from several different organizations, we consider it important to also evaluate the realization of equality and anti-discrimination within the internal and collaborative activities of our research group.

Within our research group, we aim for the continuous development of our practices and strive to address any potential concerns with a low threshold. To support this, two contact persons, Laase Rämö and Pirjo Toivonen, have been appointed within the research group. Regardless of their position, role, or the length of their involvement with the group, members of the research group may contact them if they observe or experience inappropriate behavior, treatment, or harassment related to the activities of the research group.

In addition, we periodically collect information on the realization of equality and anti-discrimination through an internal anonymous online survey within the research group.

Our goal is for our research group to be a safe, respectful, and non-discriminatory working community for everyone.
