Who are you?

I am a musculoskeletal physiotherapist with ten years of experience working with working-aged people facing a wide range of challenges. My main clinical interest has been the upper quadrant — the seamless function of the hand, shoulder, and neck.

I hold a master’s degree in health sciences from the University of Jyväskylä, where I completed my thesis as part of the FINTASY pilot study. This experience gradually drew me from clinical practice into research.

Outside of work, my heart belongs to my dog, my horse, and the beautiful nature of Central Finland.

What is your role in FICEBO?

Since 2021, I have been involved in FICEBO, initially during the planning and preparation phases of the FINTASY trial. Starting from scratch and coordinating a multicenter RCT has provided me with an excellent introduction to my upcoming PhD studies.

Currently, I am working with theFINCATS and FINDISC teams to launch two new FICEBO trials. My office is based in Jyväskylä, so I cannot take part in the daily hub activities, but I make every effort to attend our monthly meetings in person.

Favorite part of your job?

I enjoy the variety—working with different projects and people. I learn something new every day and hope to contribute to meaningful outcomes.

Why did you decide to enter your field?

I have been following a path of choices that feel right, even though I am still not entirely sure where it will ultimately lead me.

Who/What inspires you?

Problem solving, learning, and getting things done. And of course, people that do their work with passion.

The most interesting article you’ve read recently?

I was particularly struck by the SPIRIT 2025 statement update. Although guidelines are often considered somewhat tedious, this article serves as a valuable reminder of all the small but crucial elements that make up a truly rigorous protocol for randomized controlled trial.
