Who are you?

I am a senior consultant in orthopaedics and traumatology working in the pelvic and lower extremity unit of Helsinki University Hospital.

I am working on my PhD project with the FIMPACT group. Besides my daily work and research work I am also a team physician of the local KHL team (Jokerit).

What is your role in FICEBO?

I am one of the contributors to the FIMPACT trial.

Who/What inspires you?

I am inspired by my child, my fiancée, family, friends and colleagues around me. Especially during hard times people seems to fight for the same cause. 

Favorite part of your job?

I find being a surgeon an intellectually stimulating career where I can apply my knowledge and skills to benefit others.

This one is interesting: Surgery and physiotherapy were both successful in the treatment of small, acute, traumatic rotator cuff tears: a prospective randomized trial. J Shoulder Elbow Surg. 2020 Mar;29(3):459-470. doi: 10.1016/j.jse.2019.10.013. Epub 2020 Jan 7.
